WHY IS A LICENSE IMPORTANT?
In Catalonia, the work of a real estate agent (realtor) is strictly regulated by law . According to Law 18/2007, of December 28, concerning the regulation of real estate transactions , any professional acting as an intermediary in real estate transactions must be officially licensed.
This requirement is set out in Decret 12/2010, of 2 February , which regulates the requirements for carrying out the activity of a real estate agent and creates the Register of Real Estate Agents of Catalonia.
A license confirms that a realtor meets professional requirements and operates legally.
